  • Overview

    Sage is currently transforming how it does payroll.

     

    The successful applicant will define, develop the roadmap and drive Sage group wide Payroll strategy.  They will leverage our own business cloud products, overseeing the transition from fragmented payroll provision to unified payroll provision; assure and embed standard payroll processes and controls across all Sage payroll teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Define Sage group wide Payroll strategy in line with Sage business cloud product roadmap, ensuring we showcase our products whilst providing robust and reliable payroll for Sage colleagues
    • Develop business case and roadmap to deliver the Payroll strategy, including phased deployment, integration with Sage People, decommissioning plan, timeline etc
    • Deliver the transition from our current fragmented payroll system landscape to a unified solution, in line with the plan, ensuring effective integrations with Sage People
    • Deploy, embed and continually improve standard payroll processes with embedded effective controls in line with Sage Excellence in Controls programme to ensure effective and efficient delivery, providing 2nd line of defence
    • Accountable for delivery of all payrolls within their remit, using standard processes, effective controls, meeting on time and on quality KPIs, and ensuring excellent customer experience, including timely response to queries raised
    • Ensure all internal employment tax procedures, including year end activities, are adhered to in line with current tax policy and local legislation and law, working closely with Sage employment taxes team
    • Manage team of payroll team leaders, including their career development, through 1-2-1’s and personal development discussions to be operationally awesome

    Qualifications

    • Leadership skills
    • Proven international payroll experience
    • Previous team management experience including leading a team of people and delivery across geographies through coaching and task management.
    • Strong knowledge of international legislation and law relating to payroll and tax; audit and compliance requirements
    • Excellent payroll software solution knowledge
    • Proven experience of delivering high level customer service
