European Credit Manager
This role is responsible for leading the delivery of Order to Cash services in Europe by introducing a performance culture in which work is planned, performed and measured to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and meeting customer needs.
Success will include efficient processes that focus on customer requirements whilst delivering improved cost savings and enabling greater analysis and insight to drive business performance.
The successful candidate will be prepared to travel and will be able to build strong relationships with other key global functions and regional stakeholders.
Primarily based in Newcastle, the successful candidate will be an experienced leader of O2C teams with a strong track record of designing, implementing and running efficient O2C processes capable of delivering high levels of service to the business.
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. International travel required.
As the European Order to Cash Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
Leading the European Order to Cash Teams, who are responsible for Billing, Collections and Cash Application processes;
Complying with all Sage relevant Policies;
Complying with customer and collections legislations such as CCA;
Ensuring compliance with relevant EU legislation and local tax requirements;
Ensuring that agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved and conduct monthly performance reviews with both business representatives and Accounts Receivable Managers;
Ensuring consistency of credit management policies across countries and point of escalation for credit and legal action decisions;
Proactive supporting of business Sales Teams in managing customer relationships and accounts to maximise active customers whilst also managing credit risk;
Managing of customer query resolution, working with the business to resolve queries in a timely manner;
Being key contact for the business in developing operational processes to support sales initiatives which are efficient but also minimise risk;
Developing of chase strategies by customer segment and risk profile;
Ensuring production of monthly customer statements and Dunning letters in accordance with agreed chase strategies;
Improving local processes by sharing best practice across countries and initiating continuous improvement projects across Order to Cash processes;
Developing talent within the team to support team’s personal goals and succession planning;
Managing the integration of acquisitions or extraction of disposals as required.
Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) preferred
Lean / six sigma skills would be an advantage.
Establishment of a European Order to Cash function.
Experience of working with a FTSE 250/Fortune 500 organisation.
Management of large teams across geographies.
Development of best practice policies and processes.
Proven ability to identify poor processes and implement improvements.
Demonstrated an ability to work across teams and geographic boundaries.
Command of an European language would be ideal – French, German, or Spanish
