To provide expert analytical support to enable quality, evidence-based pay decision-making for the Reward & Recognition sub-function and our customers, the People Business Partners, enabling Sage to attract, motivate and retain the talent required to achieve its business goals in a competitive, fast-moving sector.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Maximise the value of Sage’s use of external pay surveys. Ensure the external market data reporting cycle is optimised into Sage’s financial year.
Partner with Reward Specialists to ensure pay survey data is calibrated with market intelligence, with a focus on key competitors in key markets. Keep on the pulse of market developments impacting our ability to attract, motivate and retain talent.
Provide evidence-based recommendations on adjustments to internal pay ranges.
Model executive package values to enable Sage to attract quality leadership talent in key markets.
Provide market intelligence for the Reward & Recognition team’s inputs into the business planning cycle.
Perform reward due diligence assessments on M&A targets and provide integration analyses to decision-makers.
Provide analyses on executive remuneration for Remuneration Committee papers.
Own the executive remuneration database and associated exec remuneration reporting (including data in the Sage Rewards system), ensuring it is 100% accurate.
Build reliable pay models and analytics for decision-makers (bonus, salary review, ad hoc models). Design incentive models and assess of fitness-for-purpose of existing models, inputting into discussions on their efficacy. Calculate bonus outturns.

Skills, know-how and experience:
Proficiency in English language, verbal and written.
Strong understanding of an annual reward cycle and the Reward sub-function’s place in the employment proposition from attraction through to exit.
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to draw meaningful and reliable conclusions from large, complex and sometimes incomplete datasets.
Ability in basic statistics (mean, median, quartiles, standard deviation, linear regression) and ability to apply knowledge of basic economics (nominal vs. real wages, supply and demand, productivity).
Strong understanding of market pay dynamics.
Ability to build complex models.
Intermediate statistics (log distributions, multiple regression, chi square, nonparametric statistics, Monte Carlo).
Ability to derive insights on pay from competitors’ financial reports.
Technical / professional qualifications:
Economics or statistics qualification desirable.
