Sage has access to the largest dataset on SMBs globally and is aiming to turn this data into benchmarks and recommendations to help SMBs unleash their true potential. This is early stage execution/incubation of the Sage strategy-development of collective intelligence solutions to be delivered to Sage customers- and is specifically focused on Sage People and Payroll data.


You will perform a vital and critical role to make this a reality: building peer benchmark and analytic solutions into the people and payroll domain. Intrinsically motivated to build something ambitious and innovative, driving for performance outside of your comfort zone. Together with a small group of multi-disciplinary people, working in an unconventional way, with the objective of fast developing solutions that are radically different and innovative.


As part of the new team, you'll be responsible for defining and delivering data based insights & KPI’s most relevant to our customers. Not by leading from theory but by working with customers, analysing the data, designing the outcome and work with the rest of the team to develop the relevant metrics and insights.


Using the knowledge of a broad range of analytical techniques combined with domain expertise of what makes companies successful and customer interaction skills, you will identify the key metrics that are relevant to HR and the businesses, based on individual and group of customers’ data. And apply collective insights gained from the aggregate of the total customer base. After which these insights need to be translated in concepts of dashboards to support end user customers.


As we develops our proposition, it's likely you will work across many aspects of the collective Insights portfolio & the broader business, supporting strategic “experiments” and delivering on initiatives that will provide insights that unlock the value of the data customers hold, delivered via customer focussed propositions.


  • Drive the exploration & definition of what a HR/People metrics focusses “peer benchmark” solution should contain and deliver on the analytics to actually deliver these.
  • Determine & define and most relevant metrics relating to the workforce health of our customers
  • Use available customer data to analyse the importance of metrics and how they relate. Based on this create working calculations and insights.
  • Work pro-actively and closely with customers and partners to validate, improve and test the ideas, relevance and product concepts
  • Work in close co-operation with the data scientists & product engineering teams to productize the analytics into dashboards and insights.
  • Support the development of associated roadmaps and product business cases when relevant with clearly defined outcome/expected results
  • Working collaboratively with product owners across the organisation to deliver the insights to market facing products and segments of our customer base.


Must have: 

  • Analytics, modelling or business intelligence experience
  • Significant experience of broad analytics technologies to solve business focussed problems
  • Strong demonstrated capability to translate data into relevant business insights
  • Background in economics, workforce planning, or business information services
  • Demonstrated skills & experience working with external customers to define and deliver results
  • A curious and pro-active mindset & intrinsic motivation to explore, define and deliver 




  • Good working knowledge of SQL, data warehousing & NoSQL databases
  • Good working knowledge of a scientific computing language such as R or Python including the key numerical, analytical and machine learning libraries. Experience with Salesforce analytics a plus
  • Experience working with HR/People data, workforce planning, and/or compensation modelling a plus but not required
