What's the opportunity?


We’re looking for a talented, innovative, and fresh-thinking User Experience Researcher to join our global team based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.


You’ll research and create understanding of what makes user experiences intuitive, accessible, and magical.

What will I be doing?


  • Plan, recruit-for, and conduct research into all aspects of products and experiences, including task-based usability testing of prototypes, field visits and contextual enquiry, surveys. analytics (web, database, server logs) and online experiments such as A/B testing.
  • Collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other researchers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Advocate research findings, presenting to peers and influencing stakeholders, through concise, action-oriented reports and compelling in-person presentations.
  • Turn knowledge into action, and drive forward change, as part of a cutting-edge Agile delivery team.



You’ll be able to confidently generate opportunities to engage with users, and feel the buzz of discovering those ‘aha!’ moments, whether on site and in context, remotely online, bringing together users in small groups, on finding ‘guerilla’ opportunities.


You’ll work on big, juicy problems that need creative thinking and well-crafted solutions. You'll work in a vibrant team, responsible for the entire user experience end-to-end. Every day your ideas and findings will have a big impact on people's lives and work.

What background do I need?


  • Degree or relevant experience in Anthropology, Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science or other related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills - able to coach and mentor others, and influence and persuade seniors.
