This role is responsible for managing all communications for Sage in UKI both externally and internally and for driving creative and innovative product, partner and corporate PR strategies. This executive is responsible managing the delivery of the Global Communications Strategy, both for internal communications and PR in UKI, with the support of in country teams, and showing local leadership on devising and delivering PR and content launches and ongoing campaigns around our products and our technology from Sage and with our technology partners, like Google, Microsoft, Apple and Amazon Web Services. This role will also work closely with the marketing teams to ensure consistency and the delivery of One Sage, externally and internally.  


Strategy and planning:

  • Contributing to the full communications strategy, supporting the Global Head of Communications and other communications leaders where necessary in delivery of the overall strategy
  • Leading the development and implementation of the UKI end-to-end PR and IC strategy and plan appropriate to the business on an annual and quarterly basis – reviewing the plan regularly to ensure effectiveness is maximised
  • Project managing and implementing product, technology partner and corporate PR.
  • Managing UKI technology analyst relationships and programs
  • Assisting on the set up of in country teams in UKI and ultimately leading and managing those teams in all relevant countries.
  • Providing alignment, coordination and focus to product communications globally –driving major product PR campaigns in UKI

Management of external stakeholder relationships:

  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with relevant journalists and publications via in country teams

Management of agencies:

  • Managing the relationships with any agencies used for communications support, both internal and external - including re-pitching, briefing, identifying cost efficiencies, tracking, best-practice sharing, etc.
  • Managing the allocated UKI communications budget in alignment with the global communications leadership team, optimize the effectiveness and efficiencies within the budget.


Must have:  

  • Sophisticated understanding of UKImedia landcape
  • Proven experience of global and matrix working
  • Experience of shifting the needle for a global  - preferably in brand, or targeting small and medium sized businesses
  • Experience of advising and supporting senior execs – promoting and protecting the brand
  • Advanced understanding of social, digital and other emerging media
  • Ability to lead a team and align them behind the corporate vision
  • Ability to think and act both strategically and creatively, especially with respect to synergies between business interests and public policy goals
  • Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across organizations as well as working independently.
  • Ability to take complicated technical concepts and translate in a compelling and succinct manner.
