Your role as a Senior Infrastructure Administrator is to provide technical expertise and hands-on day to day support for all SagePay IT infrastructure components.  You’ll be a technical infrastructure specialist offering in-depth technical expertise for projects.


You will also be involved in the transformation of existing traditional infrastructure to a cloud based solutions, ideally AWS and drive automation through script and associated technologies.  Assist in maintaining highly available, highly resilient and secure payment systems in line with frameworks and legal requirements.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Installing, configuring & maintaining all Windows & Linux based systems
  • Acting as a technical infrastructure escalation point for support teams
  • Converting requirements into technical infrastructure designs with associated documentation
  • Ensuring infrastructure designs are secure, resilient, stable & reliable
  • Support 24/7 production environment managing incidents effectively
  • Supporting production systems as required outside of standard hours and participating in 24x7 on-call rotas
  • Identifying root causes through to fix with ownership and accountability
  • Creating, deploying and managing Linux automation

Skills, know-how and experience:

Must have:

  • Windows Server, VMWare Virtualisation, Active Directory (LDAP), SAN Storage
  • Linux experience including Debian, Ubuntu and others
  • Clustering and High Availability (Linux), DR, Backup and Recovery
  • Perl Scripting, Python, Bash
  • Networking – TCP/IP, Routing, VLANs, WAN
  • Cloud IaaS, PaaS Migration into AWS or alternative provider


  • Web Server Configuration – Apache and others
  • Linux Automation / Config eg: Puppet, Chef, Git, Ansible
  • 24/7 “four nines” SLA Support, Monitoring, Proactive Fault Finding
  • Security Awareness, Authentication Methods, PCI-DSS Understanding

Technical / professional qualifications:

Any Microsoft and/or Linux Official Certifications
