We are now looking for a highly experienced, results driven e-commerce heavyweight to help us define, implement & lead a best-in-class e-commerce trading capability for Sage globally resulting in significant growth in e-commerce sales revenue – both via direct & indirect online sales channels.  This newly created position is a key leadership role within the Global E-Commerce Function.


The level of ambition (and size of opportunity) to grow e-commerce at Sage, a FTSE 100 business with a global presence, means this is a once-in-a-career opportunity to own & lead the development and delivery of a truly global e-commerce trading capability that we aim will become acknowledged within the industry as being a benchmark for what is best-in-class.


  • Play a key leadership role in the Global E-Commerce Function - creating and developing a consistent approach to budgeting & trading processes
  • Working with each country / market e-commerce team to produce & present e-commerce sales budgets and forecasts with the necessary plans to bridge any gaps and drive significant incremental revenue growth
  • Partnering with multiple global functions and local market stakeholders – including Digital Demand & Marketing, Sales, Product & Finance – to develop commercial plans that articulate & differentiate between incremental sales growth vs. channel shift
  • Assess & implement new commercial / sales opportunities with external 3rd parties to maximise e-commerce revenue growth & profitability


  • Very commercially astute with a proven, demonstrable track record of growing e-commerce revenue in a large, multi-channel, matrix-structured organisation across multiple regions / countries – a mix of direct sales and 3rd party / (e)retail sales
  • Significant experience in developing and launching e-commerce products / channels across B2B & B2C organisations in an agile way – preferably with focus on subscription / SaaS businesses
  • Significant experience of driving e-commerce revenue growth in turnaround or start-up environments – this newly created role requires a self-starter who has a track record of creating and implementing sales strategies, tactical plans and regional/global processes from scratch (this is not a BAU role)
  • Strong knowledge of typical customer journeys and the factors which deliver a successful online experience – ideally SaaS / B2B / SMB customer journeys
  • First class communication skills and experience with demonstrable success of building strong, effective relationships across functions and geographies and inspiring the teams towards delivering world-class products & experiences that Sage’s customers will love and will result in significant e-commerce revenue growth
